"The Tejas" are what the 17th century Spanish explorers called the Caddo peoples from what they called "the Great Kingdom of Tejas". The Caddo were (and still are) the origional trader, farmer, & hunter inhabitants of portions of what we now know as Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.  They loved their families, built large cities,  and established great trade relations with the new settlers.

 The word "Tejas" is the Spanish spelling of the Caddo word "taysha",  which means "FRIEND".  Since childhood I have hunted, fished, and played along the creek banks and bayous that have forever flowed into the great Caddo Lake that is shared between both Texas and Louisiana. I have a sense of pride knowing that those friendly Caddo residents who once walked the same woods that I grew up in somehow influenced the naming of our GREAT STATE OF TEXAS. So here we are now hundreds of years later my bearded brothers, saying welcome to  the family. We are TEJAS BEARD BREWS, NATIVE TEXANS, &... YOUR FRIENDS!
